Lancaster Class of 1967 gathers in Las Vegas for 40th reunion

Jan. 18-20, 2008, the Class of 1967 from Lancaster High held their 40th Class Reunion in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ten members from their class of 25 met and reaquainted at the Golden Gate downtown, where classmate Lon Jerome is employed and made a majority of the arrangements.

They met each morning for a delicious breakfast at the hotel cafe. Saturday was spent sight seeing on The Strip, Red Rock Canyon, etc. Saturday evening a banquet was held at the Las Vegas Club in honor of the class of '67. Ken and Barb Peterson, Ricky Hugg, Dick Christenson and a few other alumni joined in on the celebration. It was an enjoyable evening spent looking at pictures, annuals, memorabilia, and reminiscing about the high school days.

Sunday, we were all invited out to the home of Lon and Mary Jo Jerome for a very delicious barbeque and lots of pictures. Sunday evening, several people took in a few shows out on The Strip. It was so much fun to get reaquinted and spend the weekend together.

So Barb is a big winner at the casino and she comes over to the bar where we are enjoying some adult beverages and shows us her wallet with more than $600 in it and then does some bragging about her slot machine prowess. Glen and I decide she should as least buy us an adult beverage which she doesn't do, so we decide to take matters into our own hands. By the way, she stores her wallet with all her winnings in her bra. We tried to no avail, Barb would not part with her wallet and we either were not strong enough to get away from her or physically unable to get her wallet because of the number of adult beverages we had already had. Glen and I gave it a good try though.

Carol '67 & Arlie '66, by the way this whole weekend was Carol's idea, she came up with this while visiting Las Vegas in Oct. 2005. I told her she was crazy, that no one would come. Boy was I wrong, we had 28 for a sit down dinner on Saturday night and it was really a great time. More people from the North Country need to do this.

This will be a forum for posting pictures of our recent Lancaster High School Class of 1967 reunion in Las Vegas.

We plan to make this an annual event, not the class reunion, but a gathering of people from Lancaster and the surrounding area, basically all of Kittson County, MN.

I will be posting pictures of this years gathering as they come in.
